5 books I wish i could read again for the first time

There are some books out there that I would give anything to read for the first time. To feel the excitement, the surprise, the magic again. You feel it when you re read it but it is never quite the same

1. A Court of Mist and Fury

What I would give to read chapter 54 again for the first time. I read it so fast because I was so exited and I wish I had slowed down to enjoy it more! This book/series is full of some incredible tropes: enemies to lover, sharing one bed, etc. We also get to see the evolution of Feyre healing from what happened Under the Mountain. At the beginning we see a broken girl, riddled with guilt and PTSD - by the end of the book she has evolved into such a strong warrior. I love that we get to witness her healing process, seeing her smile for the first time.

2. The Infernal Devices

This is another series that I read too quickly not realizing how much I would love it. Yes, the beginning took a bit to get into but getting to experience the love triangle of Jem, Tessa and Will was beautiful. Seeing Magnus really come into himself and witnessing people stand up for Downworlders (which is a huge theme throughout the entire Shadowhunter series). This chosen family trope was beautiful, you can tell that they would have done anything for each other.

3. November 9

I cried when I finished this book. I didn’t want it to end. I am aware that it is not everyone’s favorite CoHo book, but it is hands down mine. I could not believe the heart break this book caused me! While the story may not be realistic (I mean how many fictional romances are) I think it was written so beautifully. From the fake boyfriend trope to the doing anything I can to forget you trope. I really thought the book was Ben’s novel about their love story, I thought that was the twist but NO! I couldn’t believe the twist. I really wasn’t expecting it. I wish I could fall in love with these characters for the first time all over again.

4. Book Lovers

I am a sucker for Hallmark movies. Even though I can guess the ending of them within 10 minutes, I will watch them every time. And even though I could guess this ending, I still loved the play on Hallmark movies in this book. I think also because it has to do with being in publishing, loving book, growing up in a bookstore then moving to NYC - it is just a life I wish I lived. So I got to live vicariously through these characters.

5. Percy Jackson

There are so many books that could go on this list. Maybe I’ll do a second one but to round it out, I am finishing with the original Percy Jackson series. There is something about the Greek Gods and Goddesses being saved by a teenager who was always an outcast that I love. I wish I could experience this world for the first time again. Thankfully Rick Riordan has written spin off series that I have yet to read so I can semi experience it again. But my little middle school self had no idea what she was reading when she first read this series. It quickly became a comfort series, a world I always wanted to travel back to. I can’t wait for the TV series to premiere and we all get to go to Camp Half Blood together!
