All of Sarah J. Maas book reviews will be included in this page! I will do my best to keep it spoiler free. I will have a spoiler version where I discuss my thoughts more in detail but will make sure you are aware it will include spoilers.

ACOTAR

A Court of Thorn and Roses 4/5

The world building takes awhile but push past it! I haven't fallen in love with a series faster! The characters, the world, the plot - all fantastic. I love Feyre's sass, her banter with Lucien and the strength we see. It was based on some fairytales, which you can absolutely pick up on. It adds so much to the story. I am excited to read the rest!

A Court of Mist and Fury 5/5

This series is worth reading JUST for this book. Wow, so much better than the first one. Without spoiling anything, this plot is amazing. Not sure how I feel about the cliffhanger but am so excited to find out how it ends. Series with books that end on cliffhangers, no matter how frustrating, are my favorite. Chapter 54 is one of the best things I have ever read and felt so many emotions.I would give anything to read it again for the first time.

A Court of Wings and Ruin 5/5

Throne of Glass

Throne of Glass 5/5

I loved the plot twists, wow I was not expecting that whatsoever. (As you can tell by my thoughts in A LOOK INSIDE blog). I loved how for the beginning we got just Celeana's POV but then throughout the book we started getting chunks of other character's POV. It was nice that they weren't full chapters or announced, you had to guess who it was. It added to the story very nicely and helped the plot move along quicker.

I will never get sick of having a badass female main character. I loved seeing her strength, her development even in just the first book. I loved being able to experience her fall in love without realizing it and her discovering that she now has something to fight for. It was very similar to Hunger Games in some parts which was interesting. I was nervous it was going to be too similar especially with the "Sponsor" of a "Champion" but it quickly became much different.

I also loved how much of fairytales seemed to inspire SJM books. A locked female in a tower, etc. It is one of the parts of SJM books that put it over the top for me!

Crown of Midnight 4/5

I loved this book. The only reason I gave it a 4 is because there was a lot of setting things up. I have seen other reviews that they originally rated this lower but then put it to 5 once they read through the whole series. It seems like a lot of what happens in this book sets up a lot for the rest of the series which I like but as of right now, it felt slow at some points.

Seeing so many little things finally add up to something is the best feeling. That last chapter, where everything started to make sense - perfection! SJM really knows how to end on a cliffhanger. I love and hate her for it.

In this book we really got to know Celeana more which I loved. But we also got more POV from other characters so we could start understanding more of their personalities. I read through this one so quickly. I wish a bit more of mystery had been sprinkled in so the ending didn't feel like a complete blindside but that was still excellent writing to not expect it. (Plot twist in secret tunnels). I can't wait to see how Celeana grows even more in the next book!
