A LOOK INSIDE: Heir of Fire
This was a wild ride - oh my lanta. Please enjoy all of the thoughts (that I remembered to jot down) during my first read of Heir of Fire. It was a bit hard for me to get through but I ended up loving it! Enjoy!
If I didn’t know that manon was important, this would be so much more boring
Why are we getting the healers POV
I feel so horrible for C, she is so broken. I hope training puts her back together like it always does
Manon seems to enjoy being the thirteen again over wanting to go to war
I can’t wait till we find out more about Rowan - animal form a hawk?
This books plot seems to be going slower
So sorscha reminds Dorian of celaena, I wonder what part S will play in this
Ooo now she knows about the magic
Interesting how aedion isn’t under the kings influence. So what does he want? Why does he do this? Does he know about C?
A and Chaol about to be partners in this mess but partners who don’t trust another. Dorian is gonna get jealous
A lied?! Like C!
So A is the wolf and Rowan a hawk
I hope Luca stays in the story and becomes a good friend and ally
Breakthrough? The trick is to not do it for herself but for someone else. She doesn’t care about herself, is at peace with dying but can’t stand the thought of her friends suffering
Dorian is about to find out abou C. Dorian is gonna learn about everything. Please let this be a good thing and not destroy him
So Dorian has snow and ice and Aelin had fire, how cute
Dorian flips on Aelin that quickly? Does their friendship before this mean nothing? He loyalty to his kingdom means more than realizing she may not be the enemy?
Oh no, Dorian don’t become cold hearted. You have been so kind
When will we meet Arobynn?
Dorian and his love life 🙄
I like finally seeing a lighter side to Rowan. Interesting how shifting is tied to emotions. Seems like so much magic throughout fantasy is
Nehima would be proud of Aelin as she courted the town.
First time hearing Fireheart
Bond with Aedion? Is he actually her brother? He doesn’t have a father. Absolutely her brother.
If Maeve planted her city in the heart of the river basin, is the creature leaving the bodies in the river as a message to her? Is she connected to it?
Page 276 made me hate Rowan
Emrys knew aelins mom? So they did know, but never said anything. They saw how hopeless Aelin was and did what she needed
Rowan uses her drive to save her friends against her. I really don’t like him but I know I eventually will
This sword and golden ring are gonna mean something
Rowan had a mate. He somewhat understands the pain Aelin is in
I understand reacting due to past trauma and grief and how it changes you. But that doesn’t excuse you. Now Rowan isn’t so bad cause his wife and child died? I hate how we are made to hate him but love him. Like the bad boy trope
I like that we just got so much to Aelins POV
Can family be mates? (Aedion and Aelin) feels weird to ask but they way that they describe each other.
I am struggling to get through this book
Now more creatures that were made?
I’m so glad someone is calling Chaol on his shit
Aelin being territorial of Rowan is interesting
I can’t believe she thinks she deserved to be a slave.
Okay what the heck is carranam? Is it like a parabati?
Shared bed trope?
I love reading about Aelin fighting and how far she has come. Sending the cadre to Rowan first knowing she was near her end. I understand wanting to save him and his people but her losing will mean they will get in eventually. Why couldn’t 1 of them stayed
Will we get to meet Elide?
I can’t believe we are finally getting the story of the night her parents were killed
Rowan went against every bit of nature in him, being a soldier/warrior to protect Aelin.
This was an epic transformation. I am glad she became Aelin this way.
How will Maeve react to this?
Rowan really took the blood oath? How will Aedion react to that
Oh Dorian, I can’t believe this happened. He is losing everything
I swear if Aedion doesn’t get to see Aelin one more time, I’m going to riot.
What an epic way to end the third book!
