TVD Season 1 Episode 18
Synopsis:
Stefan struggles to control his new situation, which leads to some tricky moments at a Founders Day party, and Elena and Jeremy's uncle, John Gilbert, returns to town, but they do not realise how much he is hiding. When Damon tries to find out more about the new arrival, things take an ugly turn. Kelly causes a scene at the party which makes trouble between Matt and Tyler.
Thoughts:
Damon, you know what happens! Why are you asking why he doesn’t drink human blood. You are fully aware, aren’t you? Also, why can’t you just respect people’s wishes?

Why does matt have be such a guy and not even understand that using Elena to help get through your grief but being resentful over your actual girlfriend is dumb?

And the start of Elena and Alaric’s relationship! While he isn’t her father, he definitely steps up as one. I love seeing this start to develop. Alaric is just sitting there like, girl - he isn’t gonna change
Jenna and John - totally forgot about that! That is so weird and random.
Oh poor Elena - Stefan really wanted to make her think that everything was okay.

Have they not come up with the humanity switch thing yet? Is that why he is being coy about there being another part to being a vampire?
I am so glad that Jeremy took Elena being adopted okay. It shows just how close those 2 are.
Mayor Lockwood drives me nuts. “Lose a member” shut up
I don’t know why but this episode irks me. Maybe because it is the first episode where Stefan acts so out of character, maybe its the weird party that is literally just to show how out of whack Stefan is and Tyler not being able to control his anger (which comes later) But Damon acts so creepy and weird the whole episode. Especially because we find out later that he always knew about Stefans ripper tendencies. But it is where we see more of the connection between Damon and Elena.
I am surprised that the council isn’t more shocked about their being even more vampires

Also, how does no one find John’s body?
Elena sucks at lying. Jeremy being suspicious…I am surprised Matt isn’t as well.
Tyler is an ass for making out with matts mom, especially once he was starting to have fun.
And of course there was a fight and Stefan comes across one of the people bleeding
Damons face seeing John is just too funny
Go the writers for intertwining this even more
For as much as they trust each other and have a good relationship - I cannot believe that Jeremy is so desperate to go through her things and read her journal.
Well, at least Stefan didn’t kill him.
John is a little too cocky, giving away a bit too much info
“Ive never felt before” - well at least he is being honest. That is the one scene I like, Stefan being vulnerable.
Damon is so dumb for doing this. The small bit of him that still hates Stefan drives me nuts. I can’t wait for this to go away.
