Synopsis:
Damon goes to Georgia to see a witch who may help with his plan to resurrect Katherine, Stefan reveals a shocking secret about Elena's past, and Alaric's motives for being in Mystic Falls become clear.
Damon goes to Georgia to suprise an old flame, Bree (Gina Torres - Standoff, Firefly), and enlist her help. Meanwhile, Stefan uncovers a startling clue to the past.

What would you even do if you found out the ex both brothers were so hung up on looked exactly like you?
You can see how much Damon cares for Elena in that one scene, we get a peek into the real Damon. Had he already started falling for her by this point? Or is it just because she looks like Katherine?
ANNND we finally find out that Alaric is in fact not a vampire but has been hunting them. That was such a weird set up for his character
Ooo and Alaric’s backstory! Enter Isobel!
It isn’t unreasonable that she is upset damon took her, even if he did it with the best intentions
“A little place outside of atlanta” is so funny to me since that is exactly where they film
Why are the writers still trying to pass it off that Alaric is a vamp? Staying in the shade of his car looking for a ring
Does Alaric know about the civil war era and founding families?
I missed Bonnie. But why did Stefan have to push Bonnie into this? When we find out that he knows Grams? Or knows of her. Also, I love the hints that Bonnie is still psychic, I forgot that keeps going for a bit longer.
Elenas face when Bree kisses Damon - way too funny
Aww Anna! Why did you have to interrupt Jeremy’s life?
So fear causes a block for a witch - why don’t we see that come up again? I guess we kind of do in the final season
This is why you shouldn’t be an ass Damon - people would actually believe you
If Grams can trust Stefan, that means business! Also, I love that Stefan allowed Grams to touch his hand so she could sense that. But I thought they knew each other from before?
Lore - vamps can’t have kids and if they drink blood, their body functions normally
I love all the hysteria about the journals in this season
Oh Elena - not the last time damon is gonna get her in drunken trouble
I can’t believe that Elena was able to get away with being gone all day - poor Jenna
I am honestly surprised that Elena is trying so hard to protect Damon
They did know each other!! I am glad more is out in the open now
Damon..killing is what got you into this mess
“I saved your life. I know” - had such more meaning than that
I can’t believe that Stefan is actually telling her about saving her when her parents died…but she did want honesty. I love this story so much
“Every couple of years I come back here” but said he hadn’t been back in 15 years
I won’t count Jer finding out until he is officially told
I am so glad that Elena has Stefan to help her through all of this
This episode holds SO MUCH INFO! Between Anna and the journals, Elena being adopted, more lore, bonnie and grams, Damon “killing” Isobel, so much of this episode gets called back on

1969 - Stefan met Grams at a protest
1989 - Damon met Bree on a college campus
May 23, 2009 - Elena’s parents died and Stefan saves Elena
